Please note the great comment that came from Al to the most recent post, “Scorecard and Screening Talk: Relaxing More Filters.” Simply look to the comments below that post. I will not be including our conversation found in that commentary in a detailed Q & A post in the future (like several I have done of late). So I thought bringing attention to the comments in the manner of this brief post might prove helpful.

Update Coming Soon to Scorecard

A reader of my book requested that I make a couple of formatting modifications to my Adjusted Floor Price Scorecard. Accordingly, I have added columns to permit up to 15 ticker symbols at one time and expanded the width of the columns to accommodate large dollar amounts relative to analyzing even the largest of companies. It will be next week, though, before I can get the modified Scorecard uploaded here at the website. Keep an eye out for the change.

Merry Christmas!!

Synonyms for the word “merry” include “cheerful,” joyous,” “joyful,” “gleeful,” “happy,” and “glad.” From the New King James Version of the Bible, Luke, Chapter 2, verses 8-11 we read a portion of the Christmas advent, 8 Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. 10 Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. 11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”

As a Christian, Christmas has very special meaning to me. It is a time for me to remember that Jesus Christ, God’s beloved Son, came into the world over two thousand years ago to bring reconciliation to the world via the cross He would eventually bear at Calvary…..to remember that He came because He loves me and He loves you.

This Christmas, as my family celebrates the joy of remembering the birth of our Savior, we want to share our joy with you by extending our sincere desire for you to have a very Merry Christmas!

Have a Wonderful Thanksgiving!

We thank God for all our family and friends, including our church family at Highland Baptist Church. We are thankful to live in a nation where we enjoy freedoms, and are indebted to those who serve in our military to keep us safe and to protect our freedoms.

God Knows What He Is Doing In Our Lives

In Proverbs 3: 5-6, we are admonished to “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” NKJV, Bible

Let me share how I arrived at this time and place where I’m posting to a blog on a website about a book I’ve written on how to choose stocks wisely. I earned my first car by age 17 from mowing lawns…..lots of them. Planning to start a lawn business for my career after I finished high school, I had no desire to go to college. Manicuring a yard, then stepping back and looking at the finished job was remarkably satisfying. The yard business never happened after high school, though.
