Memorial Day

Hi friends. I hope this post finds you doing well. This is an important time in our nation set aside for remembering and honoring those of our military personnel who have died during their service in the United States Armed Forces. For some of you, there is deep meaning to this time as you’ve lost someone very close to you. May the Heavenly Father who is called the God of all comfort in scripture (2 Corinthians 1:3) comfort you and bless you.

I am privileged to spend time with some young marines who are stationed in our town at a local base. They are so respectful and I often see myself as somewhat of a father/grandfather in terms of how I feel toward them. It strikes me how vulnerable they are at their early stage of life, especially in a very crazy world we live in today. It compels me to pray for these and all their comrades around the nation.

Again, this is an important time for us to remember and be thankful for sacrifices made to preserve our many freedoms we enjoy in America.

See you next time.

The Unemotional Stock Market

Hello again friends. Thank you, as always, for your support toward my writing efforts. Thank you for reading my blog posts!

Are we in a recession? Are we going to see inflation brought under control very soon? If so, will it be soon enough to enable a soft landing for the economy, and then followed by a swift recovery? When one has money invested in the stock market, questions like the ones just posed can test the emotions. We don’t like uncertainty but that’s the nature of the stock market. […]

Where Does the Fed Go From Here?

Hi friends. I hope you had a great Christmas and will have a blessed and healthy 2023!

Today’s post addresses something many of you are likely pondering, namely our ever-growing national debt alongside our rapidly increasing government borrowing rate. What do you think the Fed will/can do looking ahead? I’m sure most of you feel we have to get government spending down and under control. I would concur with that thinking. But today, I’m wondering given our present course and debt situation, what do you think the Fed will/can do in the coming years?? The Fed has been the principal vehicle of monetary policy for a very long time. […]

The Future of Paper Money

Choose Stocks Wisely

Hey friends. I hope you are doing well! As we approach another fall season, 2022 thus far has seemed a fast-moving time of great turbulence on most fronts. Yet, here we are and God, just as He did when this year and all those before it had their beginnings, remains in control of His universe. He is not wringing His great Hands nor does He slumber, and He tells all those who look to Him in faith: […]
