Labor Day weekend is seen by many as the unofficial end of summer and celebrated with family and friends at cookouts and other outdoor events. For many in Texas, this weekend will be anything but another end of summer holiday.

Harvey brought such great devastation. The video footage shown on television, social media, etc., is shocking. It is also heartening to witness how so many people are helping one another through the storm. So many are actively loving their neighbors in a dire time of need.

God is greater than all storms of life and able to provide for our deepest needs.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.

Psalm 46:1

God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble.

This Labor Day weekend, 2017, our thoughts and prayers are especially with those hurting from the storm.
