Merry Christmas friends and a happy 2018!

When I write 2018, I feel like I’m young again and have just been watching The Jetsons. Wow, life moves quickly, doesn’t it?

I know firsthand that some of you are facing hardships in your families this holiday season;  sickness and even loss of loved ones. May God carry your burdens and console your hearts by His mighty hand.

Please consider the Scriptures below as you anticipate time spent with loved ones and good meals to be shared:

Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.” Isaiah 7:14 NIV Bible

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” John 1:14 NIV

But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.” Galatians 4: 4-5 NIV

This next scripture is God’s word, penned by the apostle Paul, who had been an abuser of Christians (a Christian terrorist, if you will) before God miraculously converted Paul (formerly called Saul before his salvation):

15 Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. 16 But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life. 17 Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.” I Timothy 1: 15-17 NIV

I think I’ll close today with that scripture from I Timothy. Pondering how God rescued a soul like Paul so that Paul penned the above words after the life he had formerly lived shouts of what Christmas is all about.

Again, Merry Christmas and may God bless you, friends.
