Last week, my wife and I went to see the movie, “God’s Not Dead.” We found that the film dealt with a lot of issues that are very “real-life.” I won’t tell about the film because you might be planning to see it.

The title of the movie is timely given that the Easter celebration is upon us. I realize that everyone does not share my belief that Jesus is the Christ and embrace the necessity of His crucifixion to settle our debt (sin) toward God. Nor do all embrace His resurrection which marks eternal victory attained over death and the grave.

Being a Christian is what makes me tick. Easter is a marker for me because it means death does not rule but rather that Christ’s settling of my sin debt via His death followed by His resurrection has made death a non-event. Having received eternal life by faith in Christ, I am thereby liberated to live life with His joy within.

I understand that some readers will wonder why I talk about my faith from time to time amidst the theme of investing in stocks. There’s a famous line out of Shakespeare’s Hamlet where Polonius states

“This above all – to thine own self be true, And it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man.”

Since my college days when I accepted Christ into my life, He has changed me and is the most important person in my life. I would never exclude my wonderful wife from my everyday conversation, because I love her dearly, am thankful for her, and want people to know it. Well, I will never exclude Jesus Christ from my everyday conversation for the same reasons.

It is important for me to be real with you. As I pause to share personal thoughts here this Easter season, I desire for God’s blessings to be upon you, friends.
