In the following scriptures, God describes the infinite worth of His wisdom. It makes clear that neither silver nor hidden treasure can compare to the value of His wisdom. And it is His wisdom that permits a proper perspective toward everything during our earthly pilgrimage, including money and investing.
Please consider the following scriptures, Proverbs, Chapter 2, vs. 1-5 (NKJV, Bible):
“My son, if you receive my my words,
And treasure my commands within you,
So that you incline your ear to wisdom,
And apply your heart to understanding;
Yes, if you cry out for discernment,
And lift up your voice for understanding,
If you seek for her as silver,
And search for her as for hidden treasures;
Then you will understand the fear of the Lord,
And find the knowledge of God.”
These verses make it clear that God desires for us to know Him and He promises to give us His wisdom if we seek Him above all else. We can always go to the Bible to learn more about Him and what He has done for us.
I hope this post encourages you today.
Again, thanks for your support and encouragement. The best part of writing my book, by far, has been the friends I’ve made. May God bless each of you.
Paul, thank you of your encouragement for us to seek wisdom. Who among us have met someone whom all their words were true? Yet wisdom beckons with this unique claim (Prov. 8:6-11NIV):
6 Listen, for I have trustworthy things to say; I open my lips to speak what is right.
7 My mouth speaks what is true, for my lips detest wickedness.
8 All the words of my mouth are just; none of them is crooked or perverse.
9 To the discerning all of them are right; they are upright to those who have found knowledge.
10 Choose my instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold,
11 for wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her.
Thank you Paul, for seeking wisdom and for living your life to bless others. Your grand kids will reap its rewards. Thanks too for your blog posts each week.

Hey Steve,
I really appreciate your comment and I know others will who read it. It is a powerful commentary. Only God has absolute knowledge and understanding behind his unfailing true words. Our struggles in life often directly relate to not knowing and not understanding. I’m thankful that He is always there and is a loving God of truth who wants to reveal His wisdom to us. Thanks for taking time to share your helpful thoughts and words of personal encouragement, friend.

Paul, you’re Godly wisdom and perspective on investing and financial stewardship are encouraging to me! Thank you for your recent post and reminding me of what really matters. It’s so easy to get caught up in the rat race of life, and this is just another reminder to draw closer to the truth that He has a much greater purpose for us that we can only understand after seeking Him. Keep up your encouraging ways! Wes
Hello Wes. Wow, I agree that it’s a constant challenge not to become so distracted by the rat race of life. As life passes by and the seasons flash from one to the next, redeeming the time easily takes on greater meaning, doesn’t it? I’m afraid I find myself getting distracted way too often. So, an encouraging admonishment to keep plugging away is very welcomed and deeply appreciated.
Steve commented earlier to this current post. I don’t think he’ll mind that I write here how he introduced himself to me online a number of months back. Though separated by many, many miles, God used him to motivate me to memorize Proverbs (although he never suggested me doing it) by his encouraging manner, as I shared in a post a number of weeks back. Then I read through a comment from you to that same post how Steve had encouraged you in the same manner toward Proverbs. God sure has an amazing way of shrinking a great big world to fill gaps in our lives.
Thanks, Wes.
Paul
